Growing up on a farm in Israel surrounded by many pets, Adir, the founder of Big Paw Services, has
been a compassionate animal lover since before he learned to walk. In 1998, Adir began his mandatory
military service in the Israeli Defense Force and was privileged to join a classified Elite Unit as a their K-
9 Specialist.  He studied animal husbandry, ethology, psychology (emphasis on behaviorism,
cognitivism, constructivism, and toddler/children psychology), animal socialization, as well as various
different [humane] learning theories and canine first aid.  His in-depth studies triggered his passion
further.

After training dogs since 1998 for other companies, establishments, or government consultation gigs, in
2008 Adir created Big Paw Services; a one stop, in-your-home pet care and dog training shop
specializing in at-your-home private dog training, behavior modification, dog walking, and pet sitting

Currently, Adir is a go-to behaviorist through the bite diversion program for the Boulder courts, DA office,
Animal Control, and probation office as an evaluator, assessor, and behavior modification trainer.  He
specializes in aggressions, excessive barking, or other behavioral issues deemed a danger/nuisance to
society.  Adir is also currently a canine consultant for Open Space Mountain and Parks where he
provides valuable input from the canine perspective before implementation of the various OSMP
programs.

When he's not running the business or playing with pets, Adir can be found at Eldora teaching children
to ski or snowboard since 2008.  He is a full-time AASI full cert level III snowboard instructor, mountain
trainer, children specialist trainer, freestyle accredited, and is a USSA level 200 coach.  In 2015, Adir
created a nonprofit competitive ski and snowboard freestyle / free-ride program called the Extreme Pink
Team.  In their first season, his 20 athletes and 3 coaches brought home an unheard of 79 medals out
of 142!

About Adir

About us and the pets we care for
Big Paw Services is a doggie oriented local small business but that does not exclude us from caring for other pets.  We enjoy caring for all furry, feathered, scaled, finned or exoskeleton pets as well as some farm animals from chickens and ducks to horses and alpacas.  We have experience caring for, and training, pets professionally since 1998.  We hold to a strict code of ethics as our core values both in our personal and professional lives.

Big Paw Services helpers

Big Paw Services hires professional pet loving Big Paw Helpers to help with daily visits, walks, and overnight pet sitting.  All of our Helpers pass rigorous background checks, an interview process, and are mostly pre/post doctoral candidates or recent graduates seeking part-time employment.  We do not employ undergraduates or people under the age of 21 per insurance constraints.
